Municipality of Hagfors repurchases Bellmansgården following more than 20 years of cooperation with Nordisk Renting

Municipality of Hagfors has decided to repurchase Bellmansgården from Nordisk Renting. The transaction is the result of a long-term partnership that began in 2003 and demonstrates how Nordisk Renting’s model can help municipalities carry out strategic investments when needs arise, while ensuring the option of future repurchase from the outset.

When the cooperation commenced, Municipality of Hagfors faced a need to develop and modernise its elderly care facilities. Through Nordisk Renting’s model, an extensive refurbishment and expansion of Bellmansgården, a nursing home of approximately 21,000 square metres, could be undertaken without the municipality having to bear the full investment cost itself or tie up significant capital in the property.

A key element of the structure was that the municipality was granted the right, from the very beginning, to repurchase the property at predetermined dates during the lease term. The municipality has now chosen to exercise that option.

For Nordisk Renting, the transaction illustrates how municipalities can use Nordisk Renting as a strategic tool to carry out investments when they are needed, while at the same time releasing capital for other activities and preserving future flexibility.
