The collaboration between Nordisk Renting and the Municipality of Flen began in 2024, in connection with Nordisk Renting’s acquisition of a care home from SBB that was under construction at the time. At the point of acquisition, there was a traditional 20‑year lease agreement in place, which at the end of 2025 was converted into Nordisk Renting’s leasing structure. This structure enables the Municipality of Flen to secure long-term control of the property through a repurchase option, while rent is reduced and property management is made more efficient. For Nordisk Renting, the transaction creates a predetermined and stable cash flow with a long-term and reliable counterparty.
The property, which was completed in the summer of 2025, comprises a care home with 70 apartments and is designed to meet the municipality’s long-term needs. The newly built facility is of a high standard in terms of quality and sustainability and is certified under Miljöbyggnad Silver. The property is also strategically located to ensure good accessibility and services for residents.
“We are pleased to be able to deepen our collaboration with Swedish municipalities. This long-term agreement strengthens our role as a reliable partner to the public sector and enables the municipality to fully focus on its core operations. The property in Flen is of high quality and meets our sustainability requirements, which is of great importance when we carry out acquisitions together with our customers,” says Anna Hallsten, CEO of Nordisk Renting.
For 40 years, Nordisk Renting has been a long-term and reliable partner to Swedish municipalities. The company offers a unique solution that combines long-term property ownership with full control for the customer. Through repurchase options, municipalities gain both flexibility and security, with the opportunity to regain ownership as needs change.
