Municipality of Älvdalen retains control over strategic properties

Nordisk Renting and Municipality of Älvdalen initiated their collaboration in 2002 together with Region Dalarna regarding a strategic property for a health center and elderly care home. When the collaboration began, Nordisk Renting was able to provide capital for investments that needed to be made, including an expansion, while the municipality and the region could free up capital for its core activities. They saw a great advantage in being able to maintain control over ownership through a buy back option at a predetermined price. This was to avoid tying up capital in the property at that time and instead prioritize investments in services for the residents.

“We have seen many advantages with Nordisk Renting’s solution, primarily there has been clarity regarding both responsibility and terms, but also a very good relationship between us. Having Nordisk Renting as a property owner and partner has been reassuring for us, unlike many traditional property owners, we have had a long-term relationship. This year, as planned, we had the opportunity to buy back the combined elderly care home and health center. This solution has created great value for us, and it feels good that we can now complete the plan we jointly set over 20 years ago,” says Thomas Kjellsson, CEO of NODAF.
