Nordisk Renting increase municipal cooperation through acquisition of nursing home with Municipality of Karlskoga

Nordisk Renting acquires a newly built nursing home in Karlskoga municipality from Peab

“We have worked for a long time together with the staff at Karlskoga municipality to design and build a nursing home that suits the needs of the staff and the residents. Now we are approaching completion, it feels very good that we have a long-term owner who can manage this in the best way,” says Thord Tärnbrant, business and project developer at Peab.

For almost 40 years, Nordisk Renting has been a stable partner to Swedish municipalities, offering a unique solution that combines long-term property ownership with full control for customers. By offering buy-back options, both flexibility and control are established, which makes it possible for municipalities to take ownership of the properties in the event of future needs. The lease is unaffected at the time when Nordisk Renting acquires the property.

Villa Strå is a nursing home under construction, developed by PEAB for Municipality of Karlskoga. The housing has been designed based on future needs and Karlskoga’s goal of a good life and a good aging for the municipality’s residents. The property, which is located in Stråningstorp, is designed with high environmental requirements, it’s being built with climate-improved concrete and will receive a good sustainability certification.  The accommodation houses 80 apartments as well as social areas. Villa Strå is planned to be finlaised in the autumn of 2025.

Today, about 40 municipalities and regions in Sweden and Finland have used Nordisk Renting’s solution. In early stages, financing and ownership can be secured together with construction and property developers when the end customer is determined. We combine a local presence in the Nordic region and long-term customer partnerships with financial strength through our owner NatWest Bank.
